29: Binge Watching - November 12, 2023 (W)

Panel 1

[Pilcrow and the Asterism are sat in a living room in the Black Manor on a couch with some popcorn, watching a mid-century style television. They are in their bird-headed humanoid forms of a crow and three-eyed flamingo, wearing casual clothing.]

Pilcrow: "Ah, my favorite program, the Heat Death of the Universe! Buckle up; we're about to binge watch the longest-running show in the universe: its own demise."

Panel 2:

The Asterism: "Ah, yes! But when committing to consume the cosmos's creeping curtain call over countless centuries, snacks are compulsory."

Pilcrow: "Of course, exploded corn slathered in emulsified cow juice is tradition!"

Panel 3:

[They are both munching popcorn as they keep watching the TV.]

Narrator: "Hours Later..."

Pilcrow: "You would think after trillions of years, they'd have figured out how to skip the filler episodes. Perhaps instead a redemption arc for dark matter?"

The Asterism: "Mmmph."

Panel 4:

[They are now in the void of outer space. The Asterism's neck stretches on to infinity with no sign of her body in sight, and her three eyes float around her head. Pilcrow is now in an ophanim-like sphere of crow feathers, eyes and beaks, surrounded by halos of light. He appears to be sleepy.]

Narrator: "100 Trillion Years Later"

The Asterism: "Alas, this program holds no surprise cameos or sudden reversals, only the inexorable fade to black, no matter how rapt we remain as the radiance recedes."

Pilcrow: "Zzzz- huh, what? Did I miss anything?"
