105: Scissors and Strings - July 1, 2024 (M)

Panel 1

[Pilcrow and the Asterism stand outside on their balcony at night in their bird-headed humanoid forms of a crow and three-eyed flamingo. Pilcrow is wearing an orange turtleneck under a tan suit. The Asterism is bundled up in a puffy coat over a long-sleeved purple shirt with a beanie on. Pilcrow's neck is stretched up to look at the stars, but the Asterism is annoyed by her earbud cables.]

Pilcrow: "Ever ponder the intricacies of cosmic strings and their role in the very fabric of our existence?"

Panel 2

[The Asterism is frantically trying to untangle her earphone cords, which are hopelessly entwined. She looks exasperated.]

The Asterism: "Right now I'm pondering how to untangle the cords of these cursed earbuds."

Panel 3

[Pilcrow now holds a pair of scissors and starts cutting the cords with precision.]

Pilcrow: "I've got the perfect solution for this, just like the Gordian knot!"

Panel 4

[The earbuds are untangled, but also now cut in half and useless.]

The Asterism: "Well, they're no longer tangled. Nor functional. But I appreciate the sentiment."

Pilcrow (sheepishly): "Perhaps I should stick to focusing on the enigmas of the cosmos."
