Pilcrow & The Asterism

A webcomic about the unsettling corridors of a manor where cosmic enigmas and mundane musings collide.

I too was surprised to learn what a biblically accurate crow actually looked like.

3: Moon of Melancholy - September 22, 2023 (F)

Panel 1

[Pilcrow floats through space in the form of an ophanim-like feathered sphere of many eyes and beaks, the color of a crow, with multiple glowing hoops around him. He looks at various moons.]

Pilcrow: "Asterism, as I traverse these numerous nocturnal orbs, I sense the sadness sewn into the stars. Why do these moons murmur of melancholy?"

Panel 2

[The Asterism has taken on the form of three crying pink stars floating in space.]

The Asterism: "These are the remnants, Pilcrow. Memories of mighty cosmoses now muted. Each moon a mausoleum, a testament to time's tyranny."

Panel 3

Pilcrow: "And what of the end, Asterism? When all light languishes, and the void vanquishes all? Is this the universe's ultimate umbral fate?"

Panel 4

[The two have returned to their normal forms. They are anthropomorphic birds in suits. Pilcrow looks like a crow, the Asterism like a flamingo with three eyes. They are standing around a firepit that is currently extinguished, with the Pilcrow holding a match. They look disappointed.]

The Asterism: "For beings privy to the universe's poignant parting, it's oddly ironic we can't initiate the end... of this firewood."

Pilcrow: "Perhaps the logs, too, resist their inevitable combustion."
