14: Portal Panic - October 18, 2023 (W)

Panel 1a

[The Asterism and Pilcrow are sitting in a room in the Black Manor, in their anthropomorphic selves as flamingo and crow humanoids. Pilcrow is holding a b'naala, a strange object that looks like a tan hemisphere with eyes and tentacles sticking out of its top.]

Pilcrow: "Hmm."

The B'naala: "BLORP."

Panel 1b

[With a "bzaaat!" a portal forms between them.]

Pilcrow: "Well, that's not supposed to happen."

The Asterism: "A wormhole woven within our walls? Pilcrow, this is a perplexing new pinnacle of your prowess!"

Panel 2

[Objects are being spit out of the portal. A cup of tea. Hats. A Roman centurion helmet. A horse head rubber mask. A dinosaur bone.]

Pilcrow: "Perhaps you fancy a Roman helmet? Seems comfy."

The Asterism: "Focus, Pilcrow! This swirling, sinister, space-time split isn't some spectacle!"

Panel 3

[The two are now floating into the air towards the portal. Pilcrow is holding up the b'naala trying to make it do something.]

Pilcrow (focused): "If the angles of a hexadexachoron align with the spectral incantations of the old tomes, we might manipulate the spatial threads..."

The Asterism (frantic): "Skies and stars! We're being whisked within a whirlwind of wayward epochs!"

Panel 4:

[The wormhole stops abruptly, dropping them to the ground. Pilcrow picks up the dinosaur bone from the floor.]

Pilcrow (pondering): "Ooh! I wonder if I could eBay a dinosaur bone..."
