33: Stairway to Nowhere - December 1, 2023 (F)

Panel 1

[Pilcrow and the Asterism are walking up a long staircase in the Black Manor that seems to stretch up into eternity. They're in their bird-headed humanoid forms of a crow and three-eyed flamingo. They've stretched their heads up to see what's ahead. Her neck is stretched up and looped about, his neck is much wider but shoots up like a telescope.]

Pilcrow: "It looks like this staircase never ends! It's like a treadmill of futility."

The Asterism: "Precisely. It symbolizes the eternal quest for meaning and purpose, life's ongoing climb towards understanding."

Panel 2

[The two pull their heads back down to normal.]

Pilcrow: "Seems like life's climb is all uphill and no scenic views."

The Asterism: "Yet, with each step, we ascend closer to understanding."

Panel 3

Pilcrow (sweating): "Understanding or not, I wouldn't mind a break, or maybe a lift."

The Asterism: "The path of enlightenment offers no respite, only continual ascent."

Panel 4

Pilcrow: "Enlightenment sounds exhausting. I'd settle for an escalator."
