70: Unmother's Love - March 1, 2024 (F)

Panel 1

[Pilcrow and the Asterism are standing in a meditation and ritual space in the Black Manor in their bird-headed humanoid forms of a crow and three-eyed flamingo. He is wearing a tan suit over a burnt orange turtleneck. She's wearing a burnt orange dress.]

Pilcrow: "After my success in disguising you to look mortal, I'm going to try out the ritual on myself so I can go visit humanity too."

The Asterism: "I wouldn't call my earlier disguise a success."

Panel 2

[Pilcrow becomes surrounded by light as he performs a ritual.]

Pilcrow: "Facialus Irreguario!"

Panel 3

[Pilcrow turns into bright pink and red colors temporarily as the room fades away to reveal a black pyramid under an eclipse in a red sky.]

Pilcrow: "Nyaaaaaargh!"

Panel 4

[The view has returned to the meditation room, and the lights have faded. Pilcrow looks human, sort of. His eyes are still wide and beady like when he has a bird head, and he seems to have no nose. His tongue is tentacular and purple.]

Pilcrow: "Did it work? I must be beautiful! Will they love me?"

The Asterism: "If you had a mother, which you don't, she might. But I don't think she would."
